Steering Committee

The Steering Committee is the senior collegial body of the Millennium Challenge Account Moldova. Its major responsibilities are to manage and supervise the operation of the Millennium Challenge Account Moldova, approve independent and final decisions on the major issues related to project implementation. 

The membership of the Steering Committee is established by the Government. It has 11 voting members – 6 representatives of the Government (government members) and 5 representatives of the private sector and civil society (non-governmental members). One of the government members is the chairman and one government member is the deputy chairman of the Steering Committee. The Steering Committee decisions can be approved only by the voting members. The Government will be represented by top officials from the Government or other public authorities.

The Steering Committee is governed by the MCA Moldova Bylaws, project agreements and Moldovan legislation.

To ensure transparency, all the issues addressed and decisions approved by the Steering Committee will be kept in writing. The members of the Steering Committee receive no payment for performing their Steering Committee duties.
